In an interview with KAPstroitelstvo, the Rauta director spoke about the situation on the sandwich panel market.
According to Rauta, in 2020 the volume of the sandwich panel market in Ukraine increased to 3.1 million m2. At the same time, high-quality imported products amounted 32% of the market, and the leaders in the segment of imported panels are Ruukki, Balex, Pruszynski, Kingspan and Gorstal, which together occupied about 70% of imported products. 60% of the sandwich panel market was with a PIR core and 40% – with mineral wool. This is due to the lower price and high energy efficiency of polyisocyanurate panels, so they are used in buildings where not required high fire resistance of envelope structures is.
“Today most customers understand the value of quality materials, so they rarely go after the cheapest products and we clearly see this in our sales. So in 2020, the sales volume of Ruukki energy-efficient sandwich panels increased by 1.5 times”, – said Andriy Ozeychuk. – “In addition to the high quality products supply, we have a reputation of a reliable partner, built up over the years, as well as financial stability, so that guarantees fulfillment of all our obligations.”
Talking about the plans, Andriy Ozeychuk noted that in 2021 Rauta plans to actively develop and present sandwich panels with weather-resistant Corten steel facing and translucent roofing panels with increased energy efficiency.
