On December 13, during the 5th National Conference of Steel Construction Market Participants, General Manager of Rauta Andriy Ozeychuk shared his opinion about the current situation in the segment of coated thin sheet steel products.
According to the company’s top manager, the market of galvanized thin sheet steel products grew by 17% and the market of polymer-coated steel increased by 53%. At the same time, the volume of rolled steel shipments from China in absolute terms almost doubled over the year.
“Unfortunately, more than a half of coated thin sheet steel imports are delivered from China, and Chinese products annually deprive other countries of a share of imports. It is worth noting that Chinese rolled products often have poor thickness of steel and coating, and this is what primarily end users suffer from. In this situation, it is extremely important to inform the end user how to choose ventilated facades and roofs properly, and what characteristics should be noted,” Ozeychuk said.
There are important analytical reviews and articles containing recommendations on how to choose claddings and framework structures on Rauta’s new website aimed at helping industry professionals and end customers to select proper construction materials.
