Construction and engineering company Rauta became the first company in Ukraine to certify sandwich panels according to the standard DSTU EN 14509.
The harmonized standard DSTU EN 14509 “Self-supporting double skin metal faced insulating panels” took force in Ukraine on July 1, 2015 and, unlike the national standards DSTU V.2.6-71 and DSTU V.2.6-72, provides for the evaluation of products by such important technical parameters as durability, air and water tightness, strength variation over time, sound absorption and others. The European standard also requires mandatory use of high-quality steel with a yield strength of 220 N/m2 or more for production of sandwich panels.
“The absence of a number of important technical parameters and a mandatory declaration by the producer of the technical characteristics of the products in DSTU V.2.6-71 and -72 put all sandwich panels sold in Ukraine in one row and made it impossible for the end consumer to distinguish high-quality products from low-quality ones. The certification in line with DSTU EN 14509 allows customers to be sure that products meet the highest European standards and helps manufacturers of high-quality sandwich panels to differentiate themselves from competitors,” Rauta CEO Andriy Ozeychuk said.
The certification procedure for sandwich panels in line with the European standard EN differs from certification according to the national standard DSTU and implies the use of new advanced production technologies, introduction of improved materials and approaches to quality control of ready products and their components, which ultimately allows providing the buyer with a better product.
