The company was the first in Ukraine to introduce the Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) for sandwich panels, ventilated facades claddings, trapezoidal sheets, LGSF and roofing products.
Environmental declarations describe the product impact on the environment throughout the entire life cycle, from the supply of raw materials to disposal.
According to the EPDs, Ruukki products do not contain substances restricted by the European Union’s Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals Regulations or SVHC Ingredients.
“Leading European developers are increasingly using construction products with transparent environmental impact indicators based on life cycle analysis (LCA), – said Andriy Ozeychuk, Rauta CEO. – Such objective indicators are data from the EPD, which contains information about what products are made of and how they affect the environment throughout their entire life cycle. Also an EPD helps a building achieve higher LEED and BREEAM scores.
The declarations are drawn up in accordance with the standards EN 15804+A1 “Sustainability of construction works. Environmental product declarations. Core rules for the product category of construction products” and ISO 14025 “Environmental labels and declarations. Type III environmental declarations. Principles and Procedures”, as well as additional requirements set out by the RTS Building Information Foundation.
