1Students of the Kyiv National University of Civil Engineering and Architecture successfully combined large-sized Primo Skyline 150 metal facade cassettes with exposed red steel structures in the competition project, which are the compositional center of the building.
On November 29, the final of the Steel Freedom 2025 student architectural competition took place, during which the finalists’ projects were defended before an authoritative jury, which determined the winners. The jury of the competition included Dmitro Vasyliev, CEO and Сhief Architect of Archimatika, Andriy Pashenko, Head of TAM Pashenko, Anna Iskierdo, Creative Director and Co-Founder of AIMM, Oleksiy Obraztsov, Architect and Founder of ArchObraz, Bohdan Dumich, Architect of AVR Development, Oleksandr Maksimov, Chief Architect AVG Group, Olena Ryzhova, Commercial Director of Intergal-Bud, Vasyl Pasichnyk, Chief Engineer UkrNIIproektstalkonstruktsiya named after V.M. Shymanovsky.
Team 918, which won the competition, was also recognized as the best in the nominations from Archimatika, AVG Group, Intergal-Bud and took the prize place in the MVRDV rating.

This year, the organizer of the competition, the Ukrainian Center for Steel Construction, for the first time in its history, introduced an additional climate nomination, the Climate Award, which evaluates the project for compliance with modern environmental requirements. The availability of EPD environmental declarations and the GWP parameter for Ruukki products made it possible to significantly accelerate the assessment of competition projects for sustainability.
